Windy Farm Alpacas is a small farm, established in 1999, conveniently located 3 miles off the NJ Turnpike (Exit #7) in historic Chesterfield Township.
Crossing robust Peruvian and Chilean bloodlines has been the basis and success of their breeding program, consistently producing healthy and vigorous show quality alpacas with competitive fleeces.

Windy Farm breeds for rich beautiful colors, Fawn to Black, as well as fleeces with vicuna shading, roaning and fading colors. Recently, they added a gray foundation female and a young gray herdsire. Many of their genetic lines are from the Aysen herd importation, which is known for color and fineness.
Goals for fiber have been to breed for crimp (many of their alpacas have curve measurements of 40 to 50 by OFDA 2000 measurements), as well as fineness (1st year fleeces of 16 to 19 micron). They are also seeking density, bundling and staple length for lofty fluffy fleeces.
Owner, Jackie Armiger, has expertise working with alpaca fiber and offers fleece preparation classes and services, as well as some fiber arts classes. She has a passion for spinning, weaving, felting and knitting, which provides hands appreciation of alpaca fleece. Jackie creates and sells hand spun alpaca yarn and hand made alpaca products, as well as locally processed alpaca yarn and some retail alpaca products.
